Like Randy Quaid in Independence Day, Weeeee’re baaaaaacccckkk! Despite Hurricane Irma and a handful of other annoyances, the guys are here to bring you their thoughts on some things that have been going on in the nerd world over the summer. Our resident Horror Guy tells the guys his expert opinion on the newest cinematic iteration of Stephen King’s IT. Lee comes out of his hidey hole to confess his love for Bungie’s Destiny 2 and how it compares to the previous release. And do you like pirates and dinosaurs? Seamus will give you the low down on the newest Magic The Gathering offerings. All this and a whole lot more in the return of your favorite intergalactic trio!

It’s almost time for monsters & spirits to run amok (amok-amok-amok) around the land of the living! Why not prepare yourself with some horror radio! This month we discuss a little horror film that hit theaters called IT. I also take a look at all the horror television series coming back this October, review Halloween Horror Nights 27 in Orlando Florida and tons of other treats for your goodie bag. But the main star this month is Waxwork Records Co-owner Kevin Bergeron! He’s he to share a bit about the companies new venture into comics. We also talk vinyl and discuss some future exclusives that could be on the way. Trick or treat!
For the second year in a row the fine folks at Tampa Bay Comic Con gave us a panel slot, and we decided to record it in it’s entirety for you! If you happened to miss these fine gentlemen wax poetic about nerd stuff LIVE this time around, here’s everything we covered:

- Stranger Things, season 2 trailer released
- Thor: Ragnarok, early reactions
- Justice League, relying too heavily on success of Wonder Woman?
- Ready Player One, how did this even get funded?
- Spider-Man: Homecoming, our mini-review

- Destiny 2, Lee talks the beta
- Anthem, Destiny: Me too?
- Kingdom Hearts 3, and we made someone rage quit the panel
A huge thank you to everyone at TBCC and those who attended and made our panel possible. Fingers crossed for next year!

Summer is finally here which means we’re getting hit with all the blockbuster titles a nerd can handle! We cover what we’ve seen so far, including our mixed opinions on GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, VOL 2 and ALIEN: COVENANT, and brace ourselves for the gaming onslaught of E3 announcements and a slew of fall releases. Lee and Keenan also discuss their experiences in the newly revamped and repurposed PREY title, but only one of them finished it. Make sure to stay tuned until the end to find out who and to hear us talk about our favorite games of all time!
A belated May The Fourth Be With You, folks! We’re here this month with all sorts of glimpses into the future of our beloved nerdy franchises. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 may be rocking the box office, but we’ve got all sorts of footage from future Marvel outings such as THE DEFENDERS, THE RUNAWAYS, INHUMANS, and CLOAK AND DAGGER.
On the silver screen, there are trailers out for THE DARK TOWER, THE MUMMY, and KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE. Time will tell if they will be hits, or fodder for future episodes of the newly revamped MST3K which we are certainly fans of.
As if this wasn’t enough of a geek overload, Keenan and Seamus tell us all about their experiences at this years STAR WARS CELEBRATION. Look forward to some footage of their trip to hit the website soon!
We are half way to Halloween and May is the perfect month to drop some major releases on you all! Twin Peaks is coming back to television and I could not be more excited, Friday the 13th: The Game will soon take up all my free time, reviews of Get Out and RAW, great horror comic artist discussion and all the horror surfer rock n’ roll you can shake a half eaten; bloody surfboard at!
Greetings Earthlings, and welcome to another intergalactic episode that’s chock full of our insatiable love for X-Men Origins: Wolverine!
Sit back, relax, and listen to us gush over the incredible Wolverine/Hugh Jackman love letter, LOGAN. There are a handful of major spoilers, so be warned. Seventeen years in the making, this is the movie our favorite Canadian X-Man deserves. It’s so good to have two solid R-rated superhero flicks out now, because VENOM looks like its going to be the next one in line to get the “adult” treatment. In TV news, Keenan and Lee explain to Seamus how IRON FIST was less than stellar and discuss the potential future of the character in the Netflix Marvelverse. To round out the show, we finish up with some talk about how THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD and MASS EFFECT: ANDROMEDA are great additions to the franchises.
Seriously, what kind of bizarro world is it that an X-Men based movie is better than a Marvel Netflix show?
This summer looks like it’s going to be one hell of a ride! Recently, we’ve been given brand new looks into Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 and Alien: Covenant, the latter of which also dropped a prologue of sorts that’s got us hooked and ready for more. Two ragtag groups of misfits fighting aliens on the big screen? Count us in!
In gaming news, Microsoft plans a reveal date for the Xbox Scorpio in June at E3. Can this new console, coupled with their new, monthly game pass finally get them out from under Sony’s console dominance? If that isn’t enough to get you reaching for your wallet, 343 announced that split-screen will be returning to the Aliens-inspired franchise, Halo, when it’s sixth mainline release drops.
Welcome to the (kind of) first episode of the year! We’ve got a lot to talk about this time, and what better way to start it off than with MORE STAR WARS! Keenan and I finally share our thoughts on ROGUE ONE and ponder on the released title for this years installment, THE LAST JEDI. Also, can Legion and Logan reinvigorate the X-Men franchise? Does GODZILLA 2 have some competition with Anne Hathaway’s COLOSSAL? Will DC’s POWERLESS be better than SUICIDE SQUAD? Probably.
In the gaming world, OVERWATCH is holding a YEAR OF THE ROOSTER event, Keenan talks about his recent completion of FINAL FANTASY XV, and Lee is elated that WATCH DOGS 2 is a massive improvement on its predecessor. Oh, and there’s this new system called the NINTENDO SWITCH, but you’ve probably never heard of it…
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY! 2016 may have been a “dumpster fire” for a lot of you, but we think the video game industry is on the up and up for 2017. We’re here to give you our take on “the state of gaming” and where things are headed for the future. Will nostalgia win over audiences more than innovation? Have people lost interest in VR? What were our biggest disappointments in gaming for the year? Stay tuned for the answers, and keep an eye out on the site for the latest developments for 2017! There may be some giveaways from Keenan’s trip to the Playstation Experience somewhere in there as well…
I don’t think I have ever been this bombarded with so many games in one year! Although, I feel like I say that every year, this one just feels like it brought a ton of gems! I’m talking games I never thought I would be interested in playing. Now they are some of my all time favorites. 2016 also introduced us to VR! I tried them all out, but ended up going with the Playstation VR due to property licenses and comfortably. Do any of these new immersive games make the list? Check out the list below!
I just returned from PSX in Anaheim, California about a week ago and boy the experience is no lie!
Let me start off by saying that this show is FOR the fans! This being my first PSX show, I was really blown away by how much Playstation cared about its long time fans. The throw backs that were announced last weekend were some loved gems. Remasters like the Crash Bandacoot, Parappa the Rapper and Loco Rocco were all playable on the show floor. There was also a free collectible card game going on during the show. Play a game at a booth, get that games card, which is numbered and the series continues at all Playstation events. How cool is that? This is just the tip of the iceberg compared to what Sony had going down on the show floor.
You cannot forget SWAG! The Official Playstation store was on hand and had a ton of throw back items, including an exclusive 1994 Playstation lettermen jacket. Since I never made the football team back in high school, this was an instant purchase for me. There were also a ton more exclusives including jewelry, shirts, statues and figures.
Remasters and swag are great and all, but most come for the announcements! Here is a run down of all the top announcements at PSX 2016.
What a month for movies we’ve had! From Marvel’s newest offering in Doctor Strange, a return to classic sci-fi in Arrival, and magic and mayhem in Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, it’s been packed. We also got into some discussion on new trailers for things we’re excited for, like Kong Skull Island. So, get out of that Black Friday shopping/violence coma and listen to us wax poetic on this movie-centric episode!

Episode 10 is here!
Blizzard recently dropped their new competitive playlist in Overwatch and Lee’s all sorts of fired up about it, but will gladly accept BK Kids Club skins in return. Seamus just finished playing Oxenfree and gives his clickbait-worthy review. It’s been four years of trying to forget it but Keenan reopens old wounds and brings up Mass Effect 3’s controversial ending. Most importantly, how much of your life have you dedicated to Pokémon GO?
Other Mentions: Independence Day: Resurgence, Anime Expo, Among The Sleep, Halo 5 Warzone Firefight
It’s E3 week, and our hosts are overloaded with all the trailers, announcements, demos, sequels, and console revisions! We got our fist looks at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Fire, Star Wars AND Resident Evil 7 VR, Titanfall 2, new Quake, Kojima Productions Death Stranding and a ton more! Who had the most impressive presentation? What games are you most excited about? Listen as the guys discuss what they saw and try to make sense of it all in this months episode!
The last we saw of Kyo, Terry, Mai and the gang was back in 2010 with King of Fighters XIII on the PS3 and Xbox 360. It stood with mix reviews, but the fan base held strong with a burning fist!
It’s now 2016 and the fighting game playing field is stronger than ever with entries from today’s biggest competitors like Mortal Kombat XL, Killer Instinct and ever flawed, and slowly getting better, Street Fighter V. KoFXIII stuck to its 2D roots and looked glorious on 1080p televisions! For fans, this was the future of 2D fighters.
Fast forward six years later and the team at Atlus have seen what their competitors have been up to and have stepped up their game. We only slightly say goodbye to the classic 2D look and enter a new age in the KoF history. Take a look for yourself!
Here are the top-line refinements for THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV:
- 3D Evolution: All 50 fighters, movesets and more are rendered in full 3D graphics that preserves the essence of KOF’s visual style but updates it with a whole new dimension.
- The Best Refinement since KOF ’98: Through extensive playtesting and balancing, the controls have been streamlined, and the Combo and Max Mode mechanics have been overhauled to create the most competitive fighter in SNK’s history.
- The KOF Saga Continues: There’s a robust single-player storyline where several years have passed since the previous KOF tournament. Now a worldwide business, the global KOF will decide who is the strongest as both individuals and companies with their own ambitions have come to compete. Players compete against CPU-controlled opponents to unlock the storyline.
- The Best Roster Yet: There are 50 fighters total, with 31 returning from previous entries into the KOF series, and 19 brand new characters. All 50 characters will be available at the game’s launch.
Here is our first look at the Steelbook as well as the PREMIUM edition!
The game will be $59.99/CA$79.99 at launch. Pre-orders and a limited number of launch editions will arrive in this special SteelBook® case. Plus, for the week following launch, the Classic Kyo costume DLC will be free to all players!
Revamped Online Experience: THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV has devoted a lot of development time to improving the game’s netcode for vastly improved online gameplay. KOF XIV uses the PS4’s online architecture to have a whole host of online conveniences, from spectating to saving replay/battle data, and having a single online KOF XIV profile to connect with friends.
Exciting times are approaching for the show. Not only do we have a slew of content on the way (including Podcats, Let’s Plays, Reviews, Convention News) but we have a place where it is all coming together! Welcome to SPACEDRAGONCAST.COM. Not much is here yet, but keep coming back to check on new features very, very soon!
For now, enjoy our latest episode of the show featuring our contributor Erich Blossey; who helped cover some really fun VR tech at this years GDC. Lee was the only one who went to see Batman v Superman but did he hate it? Keenan makes a strange observation about the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and Seamus waxes poetic about this years Magic the Gathering PRO TOUR for Shadows Over Innistrad.
